Reviews
I recently got my license here and it was such an easy experience. I needed to finally get my license and I was able to take my classes/courses/tests with no issues. My instructor Mr. Saens was very nice and was extremely willing to work with my schedule. Highly recommended coming here if you need to learn to drive!!
the instructor is very compliant to all needs s very patient with the student hes is overall happy and quite lenient he knows what hes doing and is a good teacher of the rules and laws of the road. if you need to miss a portion of a class he will work it out with you so you can come in at a later date and get your class done. He provides all testing and ensures that you know how to keep yourself, the passengers, and others on the road safe.
Unfortunately one of the worst schools out there!!! My daughter went here, she got no credit for anything plus her learners permit turned out to be worthless. She has to redo tests to get official drivers license because her driving instructor got in trouble/ lost his license!! Her credit for the test she took at this school disappeared, how in the heck!? Waist of money and time!!! So sad about this situation!!!
I see alot of negative reviews here and dont fully understand why so Id like to share my experience. Ive had five sessions behind the wheel and gone through the class here and honestly I couldnt be more happy with my decision in where to learn to drive. I came into this not knowing anything and less than a month later Francisco had me on I-40 driving comfortably and confidently. The class is a little fast paced and can be intimidating at first but over all I have had a very good...
experience with old school of drining in Rio Rancho between getting my learners permit 3 days into the course and being confident in my ability to drive safely less then a month in. I have two sessions left with francisco and look forward to them after i get some more experience with my family.
Good instructor who made it easy to learn the material. The class is short (3 weeks for me) so it didnt impact my schedule too much. The breaks were nice. The instructor is very flexible and willing to work with students on scheduling (for example, most of my class didnt want to come on Halloween so he gave us the day off). There is plenty of one on one driving time, which is very helpful in becoming more confident. The only problem I had is that my first time driving with the instructor he pointed...
out all the mistakes I was making, which shook my confidence as I had almost no experience. The next session, however, was much better. I definitely recommend driving with someone you are comfortable with first to gain confidence. Otherwise, this was a very helpful course and I would recommend it.
Andrew Duran: both instructors were great to drive with. Different but good. They explained things well, stayed calm and helped us improve what we needed to work on. The class part was very long but we got breaks and the teachers allowed us good time to take notes and explained all well enough to do great on the test for those who listened. It was an easy and simple process.
Before enrolling my daughter in Old School Driving School she had no prior experience behind the wheel lets be honest teaching our teens how to drive in Albuquerque is no joke! So I was nervous, Francisco reassured me that she would be fine, and she was The classes she took online were filled with tons of important information. That gave me the confidence that she was learning the skills she needed to be a good driver. When it was time for her to drive with her instructor she had the opportunity...
to drive with Francisco and another instructor. Both were patient with her. I am so thankful. Francisco and his team focused on different areas of driving. She learned how to turn, switch lanes, drive in traffic also in residential areas at the proper speed by the end of her driving hours she was on the freeway. From not ever being behind the wheel to where my daughter is at now as far at knowledge and driving skills I am blown away! Thank you Old School Driving I will be signing up my son next year!
Ive never had anyone with time to teach me to drive. Time, skill, patience.. before coming here I was under the impression I was going to go far into my adult years not knowing how to drive. When I was able to come here, I was terrified of the road, and admittedly my first session was rough only because of how frightened I was. They were able to catch that I was freaked out and panicking, and did what they could to calm me down. They worked me past my fears day by day. Every day after, just one...
hour sessions at a time, I got much more comfortable. In less than a full week of hour sessions, I drove on highways, through intersections, and eventually freeways which I feared the most. At that point the reality that I CAN drive set in, and I have not a single regret coming here. Truly a great experience, and Im thankful for all Ive learned.
Dealing with Old School of Driving has been nothing short of a nightmare. My daughter needed behind the wheel instruction as she had already done the in class portion at school. We called Old School for months before getting through where I made an appointment at 11 am to meet the owner at the Coors location to sign them up for courses. We didn t realize this business had been suspended for 6 months for aggressive and inappropriate behavior towards students and parents from the owner Francisco...
. We waited for over an hour being told he was coming from Rio Rancho and was behind an accident. Funny thing is we came from RR and had no issues getting there on time. Against my better judgment, we still signed my child up for 7 instructed hours of behind the wheel driving. First lesson the instructor was late, second time they didn t show at all because of scheduling issues. You have to call and make the appointment every time. When the owner answers he answers like he s irritated someone is calling and doesn t identify the number as a business. Its very off putting. Every time I or my child called we were told someone (Mikayla) would call back to schedule shortly but we never received a call back so we would have to call again and again. On this last session my child and I had been calling Francisco for a week and a half to schedule. Fransisco claimed to not know who I talked to the previous phone calls even though it s him who answers and was rude and nasty then hung up on me because I was not happy that we kept being blown off. My child tried calling and was also met with a rude answer and then immediately hung up on. My father paid for and helped sign up my child for lessons so I asked him to call. Francisco was immediately abrasive called my elderly father a dumb f*ck then hung up on him as well. It seems Francisco thinks because he s a loud military man that he can treat people like trash. Clearly the anger management classes he was required to take to get his business back didn t do anything. I gave it some time before writing this review to see if Fransisco would be calling to apologize for his behavior mainly towards my father but that didn t happen. The instructor himself did a good job, but that s not worth having to deal with Fransisco and the inefficient way this place is run. I do not recommend Old School at all and will be going somewhere else for my other child in next year.
It really helped my son at the driving school when he was really inexperienced and just wanted to get his provisional, he s not more confident and comfortable in driving and is taking me places now too. It s wonderful and I m very proud of him and glad they could support my son and make him more confident
